Staring Down Father Time
This article gives a good overview of what is happening in the cosmetic marketplace in 2006. As an Ocular Plastic Surgeon I especially like the last paragraph! "Ask how many times he does the procedure you're having done. If you're interested in an eyelid lift, for instance, choose someone who concentrates much of his or her practice in that area, not someone who only does them occasionally."

American Granny to have Face lift in China
What are people thinking? I understand wanting to save money but traveling all the way to China to have a face lift, that I cannot comprehend. With the expense of the flight and hotel she will more than likely spend more than if she had the surgery here. This is a procedure that needs followup with your physician. What if something goes wrong; she has a complication or a cardiac problem? Her USA medical insurance will not cover her expenses.

Lawmaker Wants Limits on Plastic Surgery
Why is it that everyone wants to decide what is right for others? A premier in Australia wishes to restrict citizens less than 18 from having procedures. Can we no longer can trust the wishes of the patient guided by the parent and the physician? The lawmaker wishes all under 18 to undergo psychiatric counseling prior to surgery. There are many who are over 18 for which this would be worthwhile as well!
